Barbora Bereznakova

Barbora Berezňáková is a writer-director based in Berlin and Bratislava. She is a Berlinale Talents, IDFAcademy and ZFF Academy alumna as well as Nipkow, FilmKünstlerinnenprogramm and other stipends recipient. 

She won the 2019 Tatrabanka and Cinematik Best Doc awards and was shortlisted for the Slovak national film award in 2020. Her feature documentary film Never Happened premiered at IFF Warsaw in 2019, and her short Strigov at Krakow IFF and DocAviv in 2022.

She stands behind the doc and transmedia trilogy Ask at Home and has produced socially engaged projects under her Známa Firma since 2013. 

Currently, she is developing her fiction debut This Room Is Impossible to Eat and comedy series Slavic Science as a creator.

She is a member of European Film Academy.
